Wan's Story

Ridzuan, or better known as Wan, is the second child of the three brothers. He started his racing journey at the age of 6 years old, racing horses in monsoon drains in Gombak (better known as kuda longkang). He also showed his skills from a young age by entering competitions in bicycle racing with his Kuwahara bike (cheaper version of the BMX) during his school days. But he started showing his true blue racing dynamics when he was 19, while other students were busy focusing on studies, Wan was always at the Batu Tiga Circuit, also studying. After years of tuning and modifying his legendary Proton Wira JFB, in the year 2000, he was rewarded with the Championship of Batu Tiga Speedway Two Wheel Drive Drag Race Trophy. He then furthered his studies in England and did testings in both Silverstone and Brands hatch circuit to ensure he never loses his touch. He also closely followed Fariq Hairuman’s races in BTCC and was in constant contact with Petronas BTCC team in the UK. In the year 2006, Wan and his two brothers decided that they should put all their skills and experiences together and so begins the history of Brothers in Racing. The year 2006 was an emotional year as the team finished the MME race despite the fact that preparation for the race was extremely minimal. Wan was the second driver for the team and just like the other two drivers, he has passion for only two things, Manchester United and Ferrari F1 team. He says the recipe of success on track is simple, always put 100% focus and of course having an understanding wife! He has been eyeing the podium since the last 3 years and this year is no exception. The team has worked very hard and it all depends on the drivers to bring the title home this time around. Wan says he will do his very best to support his two brothers and the team, and also promises to carry the sponsors logo to the finish line with pride. “I thank our sponsors, media, family and friends, for giving Brothers in Racing a chance to show its full potential.
